This two-day course is designed to explore in more detail the core elements of brewing coffee. While the Brewing Foundation course introduces the brewing variables, in this course you start to manipulate brewing techniques to improve coffee quality. It is highly recommended to take Brewing Foundation prior to taking this course. In this course you will learn about:
- Extraction as a scientific process;
- Charting filter coffee on the Brewing Control Chart;
- Exploring and manipulating water-to-coffee ratio, grind size, brew time, water temperature and turbulence to adjust taste.
Price: 300 JOD + 110/170 JOD (SCA certification for members/non-members)
Exam: Four practical tests and a written exam (pass rate of 70% required to obtain 10 points towards your SCA Coffee Skills Program Diploma).
